Warning: Key plot points for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced
Episode 3 ended with a major cliffhanger and revealed the first table of heroes who will split off from the primary party to begin their own adventure, separate from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table features Teor (portrayed by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
With an extensive roster, it was clear from the start that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
This explains, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Prelude, weaving together the personal journeys before splitting into three smaller tables: Warriors, Planners, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for participants who prefer a typically action-packed battle-oriented narrative style where diplomatic options are rare.
Initially, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander might seem unsuited, but the events of the latest installment show why these particular heroes are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the party knows exactly where to proceed after a violent first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose passing kicked off the campaign’s events—exploited the foes for his own means, entering the secret base, assaulting the rogue, and stealing all the enchanted items to auction.
The antagonist then settled his obligations and ran away to a secure base in the remote area, beyond the city, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each member has a personal reason to exit the urban setting:
- The rogue, as the close ally and trusted friend, seeks revenge.
- The adventurer has experience in the region and cautions that it is a dangerous environment.
- Tyranny and The healer, having defied his relatives’ demands to eliminate the target and instead freed him, have no other options.
- However, their reputation as important members in House Halovar could help the team access areas they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The fighter pledged a life debt to The cleric for his rescue and will now go with him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the rulers that govern the city for a multiple motives, making staying in the city dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and The cleric betrayed House Halovar and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This results in them few options but to travel to Timmony in pursuit of the traitor.
What’s Next?
According to the recent installment’s Cooldown, we discover that the combat party won’t be around next week, leaving the remaining eight participants to form the Seekers and Strategists parties.
Audiences can expect learning which adventurers will be in which group in the story’s final introductory chapter, streaming live on the upcoming Thursday.
